Totally New Website for Travel Services

Giving Back to the Community
The employees at Travel Services are actively supporting various local and national charitable causes through a program that encourages the wearing of blue-jeans the first Friday of each month. The privilege is earned through making a $5.00 donation for the selected charity for that month. Pretty much the entire office team participates. Past organizations that the firm has supported include the Susan B. Kohner Can-cer Fund, the Puerto Rico Food Bank, and La Casa Protegida Julia de Burgos which tends to abused chil-dren and women. It’s gratifying to see that a genuine spirit of giving has developed amongst all of the firm’s office employees.
1st Annual Sol Melia Invitational Scheduled for April 1- 4, 2007
In less than two months the 1st Annual Sol Melia Invitational will be held at the Paradisus Puerto Rico Resort. As many as 100 key meeting planners and their guests have been invited and local sponsors include the top suppliers in the industry. The program includes two days of tournament play at the Coco Beach Golf and Country Club located at the Paradisus Puerto Rico with touring activity options for non-golfing atten-dees and their guests, plus three evenings of fun filled parties, lavish entertainment, and an opportunity to get to know the senior management at this highly popular resort which has proven itself so successful in the incentive travel market. This firm is sponsoring the airport meet and greet service as well as transportation to Revealing Rainforest one evening and two days of optional sightseeing activities for the non-golfers.
Rumors Regarding the Sales of Westin Rio Mar Persist
While there have been rumors for over a year of a possible sale of the Tishman owned Westin Rio Mar, there is still no official word. Operations at the resort, in the event of a sale, should not be affected. Additional news regarding this very popular incentive resort involve a $4.7 million renovation of the Casino that will take place June through September of this year. The hotel reports a record year in 2006 and is forecasting a great year for 2007 as well.
New Restaurants in SoFo
There are three new dining options available in the trendy South Fortaleza street area of old San Juan, each with a very distinct style. Marmalade offers an elegant yet contemporary gastronomic experience, blend-ing seasonal refreshing ingredient driven Napa Valley cuisine (Californian French or Cuisine de Terre). They offer wine pairing with each course. Chef/owner Peter Schintler’s experience includes working under six Masterchefs from France to Asia and he’s won various accolades in his own right including naming his Res-taurant Blue one of the ten best hotel restaurants in the word.
Basiliko offers Mediterranean cuisine designed to be shared along with an extensive wine list. Their lighting (dim and provocative) creates a very chic, trendy and elegant atmosphere. Their second and third floors offer an opportunity for after dinner drinks and dancing.
Sonné has a casual ambiance yet it is stylish, with colorful décor including artwork covering the walls. Their international menu includes a cool blend of Caribbean, Italian and Asian influence. And their bar offerings include Passion Fruit and Key Lime Pie Martinis.
